After-school band rehearsal...

It is very important to treat band class and practice as you would any other subject you student has. Band is not an easy miss for doctor's appointments..etc. This year our show is very challenging, so it is important for all band members to be present at every rehearsal. In fact, it is mandatory.

Not being at rehearsal can negatively impact your student’s grade in band.

There has yet to be a day when we have had the entire band together for rehearsal.

We cannot emphasize enough how important it is for everyone to be in position each practice so that the show segments will flow smoothly.

Please make every effort and sacrifice to ensure that your student is in attendance for every rehearsal.

Thank you for your cooperation,
Band Directors

Concessions...

There is a DESPERATE need for volunteers for next week's OMYF concession stand. We are short 3 people on Monday and Tuesday nights and 4 people on Thursday night. We MUST have 5 people each night or we are unable to operate the concession stand. Please step up and help out our band!

Uniforms

I will be handing out gloves this Thursday after practice by the bandroom door. You get a new pair every year so everyone except percussion should come by and get them. If there are any moms who can help with this, please e-mail me and let me know. If you haven't received your bandos yet, I will have them there too.

Remember to bring your t-shirts, bandos, gloves and black socks with you to school on Friday since we will be leaving at 2:00 and you won't be going home first. This Friday's volunteers for uniform check are Paula Turner and Becky Pinkston. If you didn't sign up and are at the band room to pick up your child, feel free to come join us. The more hands we have, the quicker we get through and can go home.

Thanks,
Doreen Thomas doreent@bellsouth.net

Chaperones...

It’s your lucky week to chaperone the band this Friday, Aug 26 for our game against Buckhorn at Buckhorn. Please respond to my email whether or not you are planning to attend. Chaperones need to arrive at the school on Friday, Aug 26 at 1:15. We will be departingat 2:00, so please be on time. We will stop along the way to eat dinner so please plan for your student to bring money. We will be taking charter buses to this game.

When you get inside the band room, please check in with me for bus and job assignments, as well as name tags. Please wear your band polo shirt or a white shirt if possible. THANK YOU so much for your willingness to help!!! Paula Maddox 913-4050

Bus Captains please be at the school at1:00 to review some information.

A side note we will be taking charter buses this Friday so everyone will not be correct on their assigned bus and all of the visuals will be riding on bus 5.
