It's your lucky week to chaperone the band this Friday, Sept 2 for our game against Pelham at HOME. Please respond to my email whether or not you are planning to attend. Chaperones need to arrive at the school on Friday, Sept 2 at 4:30. We will be departing at 5:00 which means we will load buses at 4:45, so please be on time.

When you get inside the band room, please check in with Paula Maddox for bus and job assignments, as well as name tags. Please wear your band polo shirt or a white shirt if possible. THANK YOU so much for your willingness to help!!!

After-school band rehearsal...
We continue to have issues with attendance

It is very important to treat band class and practice as you would any other subject you student has. Band is not an easy miss for doctor's appointments..etc. This year our show is very challenging, so it is important for all band members to be present at every rehearsal. In fact, it is mandatory.

Not being at rehearsal can negatively impact your student’s grade in band.

There has yet to be a day when we have had the entire band together for rehearsal.

We cannot emphasize enough how important it is for everyone to be in position each practice so that the show segments will flow smoothly.

Please make every effort and sacrifice to ensure that your student is in attendance for every rehearsal.

Thank you for your cooperation,
Band Directors

Please remember to bring your bandos, white band t-shirt and tall black socks on Friday.

Tips for Friday football games...

Students are allowed to leave the campus on Friday after school but must return by 4:30 unless otherwise noted and we will load at 4:45. Some students may prefer to stay on campus after school and have food brought to them. Students will need to have eaten prior to leaving the campus on the buses for the games for they are not allowed to eat in uniform but with some exception. Chosen foods should be agreeable to their stomachs and the hot weather. (i.e. no spicy foods, heavy milk foods, etc.) Water will be provided at games.

After games, students will be transported by bus back to OMHS and can be picked up from there after their uniforms are replaced and trucks are unloaded.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask.
