Attention Parents:

An Oak Mountain ChristmasYour band student should come home with an envelope on Friday with information about "An Oak Mountain Christmas". The students were given a presentation during their band period today (visuals will get the presentation NEXT Friday, 10/14) about the concert to be held on Friday, December 9th. There are MANY wonderful incentives for ticket sales, including dinner certificates, tickets to homecoming and the prom, moving to the top of the line for parking spaces and lockers, and even an iPad for the top seller! And that's just the beginning! Prizes will be awarded throughout the ticket sales campaign, and the very first prize to be awarded is 2 tickets to Homecoming (a $30 value) to the highest seller (money collected and orders/money turned in) by end of day 10/14. As we did last year, students who sell at least 10 tickets will receive 2 FREE tickets! The envelope they're coming home with includes a copy of the flyer, a ticket order form, and two receipts for tickets sold. Addiitonal flyers (including a full-color version), order forms and receipts are available under "Documents and Forms" on the band booster website (www.omhsbandboosters.org/). If you have any questions about ticket sales, please email Kristin Emerson, OM Christmas Committee Member, at jwkemerson@bellsouth.net. (And please note - we have 2 tickets prices this year, making it more affordable for families...$20 for adults, $12 for kids 12 and under!)

Uniforms

Please remember your black socks, gloves, t-shirts and bandos for Friday nights game and Saturdays competition. Now is a good time to get a second t-shirt if you don't have one. I'll have them available on Friday night. Sandy Tucker is my only volunteer for Friday so if you can help her out, come on.

We will be checking uniforms tomorrow at 9:30. Thanks for all your help. Doreen Thomas

Concessions

We are in desperate need of someone to take over and run the Oak Mountain Youth Football Concession Stand.

Besides the food coming from the Heardmont Concession Stand, it is a totally separate entity. The season is almost over for this year but next year is up for grabs. It is a great fundraiser for our band and it would be ashamed if we could no longer count on those funds. If several people want to come together to take turns running it, that would be fine as well. You would not even have to work in the concession stand, just setting it up, closing it for the night and counting the money.

It would be great if you could let me know before the season ends so that you could shadow Julie and John to learn what needs to be done. Please consider doing this for the band. If you have any questions, please contact Lori Risher at 205-601-7716 or lori.risher@gmail.com Thank you!!

More Concession News

We are down to the final two weeks of the regular schedule for Oak Mountain Youth Football. Volunteers are needed for Oct. 17, 18, 20, 25 and 27. There are also slots open for each of our next two home games at Heardmont on Oct. 21 and Oct. 28. If you have not volunteered this season now is the time to do so. Thank you for supporting our band!
