Pep Rally
Thursday evening this week (October 27) at Heardmont. All sousaphones and drums will be transported on the trailer, all other equipment must be taken by the students.
Students must report to our band section at Heardmont no later than 5:15.....
Pep rally begins at 6 ... Should be done by 7. We will not be providing transportation to this event. Students need to wear their band polo.
NO AFTER SCHOOL MARCHING REHEARSAL FOR INSTRUMENT PLAYERS THIS WEEK. Dance team will practice Tuesday and perform at the pep rally on Thursday. Color Guard will practice during 7th period

Senior Parents
Please arrive at Heardmont on the track by 5pm on Friday for pictures and line up. Seniors instrument players will be identified with white plumes and senior visuals will be wearing a tierra during the half-time show.

It’s your lucky week to chaperone the band this Friday, October 28 for our LAST game against Pinson at home. This is also SENIOR NIGHT. Please respond to my email whether or not you are planning to attend.
Chaperones need to arrive at the school on Friday, October 28 at 4:30. We will be loading at 4:45, so please be on time.

Uniforms
A BIG thank you to everyone that has helped out with the uniforms this year. There is no way I could have done it without you. Thanks especially to Kathy Moates and Jennifer Norton for agreeing to shadow me this year. Y'all have done an amazing job.
We will meet this Tuesday for uniform check at 9:30. We will be going to Chuys afterward to celebrate a great marching season, so please come. Also, please ask your child if they have any money owed and pay ASAP. A permanent reminder will be put up in the band room after next week.
This Fridays volunteers are Liz Scibetta, Dana Guthrie, and Sandy Tucker. Hope to see everyone on Tuesday. Doreen Thomas

Concessions
Concessions opportunities for the OMY Football: playoffs are scheduled starting the first week of November. Please check your schedule to see if you can help! Tentative dates are November 1st and 3rd. We should have a schedule by this weekend.

Christmas Concert Ticket Sales:
Remember to SELL, SELL, SELL those tickets to the Christmas concert! We will have a drawing Friday night at the game for a great prize…but you can't win unless you SELL! Extra order flyers, forms, and receipts are available on the band home page under "Documents and Forms". Who will be the big winner THIS week?!?!?!????
Fall Concert has been moved…Our fall concert will now be November 15th in the PAC at 6:00 P.M.

Message from the band directors
All Wind Ensemble members are required to try out for All County Honor Band this year……. The try outs are at Helena Middle on November 29 starting at 4. Audition fee is $5.00 (please let Mr Duren or Mr Ownby know if there is a problem with the money and we will handle)
The actual Honor Band event is at OMHS this year! January 26( starting at 6:00 pm ) and Friday the 27 (all day) – Rehearsal/Concert on the 28.
The Wind Ensemble members are required to try out for All State as well (the requirements are posted outside the Band Room …. Or you can go to Alabama Bandmasters web site and get them there)…….. Those auditions are at Hoover High school January 14th 2012….. All State Festival is in Mobile again this year!!!!!!
