OMHS Winterguard
OMHS Winterguard audition meeting is tonight at 7pm in the band room. Auditions will be held from 3:30-5:30 Nov 15, 16, 17, and 18th in the cafeteria. Please contact Tricia for more info at oakmtnguard@gmail.com

Fall Concert tomorrow night
Our fall concert will now be November 15th in the PAC at 6:00 P.M. Call time is 5:15 for symphonic band. They will need to be seated on stage by 5:45; the wind ensemble should be seated in their seats in the auditorium by 5:45. Concert should be done by 7:30 Dress for the students, black socks, "clean" black shoes, full uniform except hat and gloves

Half-time t-shirts
Courtney Monnette will be available at the concert with the tshirts that have not been picked up and the extras for those who would like to purchase what is sure to be a collectors item!

Oak Mountain Scarves
Orders for custom-made Oak Mountain scarves will be taken at the Fall concert Tuesday night. (Samples will be available.) Scarves are just $10 and make great Christmas gifts! $8 from every scarf sold goes to the OMHS Band Boosters

November Booster Meeting!
Booster meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday November 17th at 7pm. Please make plans to attend the meeting.

Uniforms
The uniforms will be going out for cleaning on Wednesday, Nov. 16. The belt buckles and breast plates need to be removed before they can be taken. We are planning on doing that after the concert on Tuesday night. If you can stay for a few minutes afterward and help us do that it would be greatly appreciated. We will meet again on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 9:30 to reassemble them before the Christmas concert. Please consider helping with this. The more hands we have, the quicker it will go. I still have 23 names on my list that have not paid for gloves, t-shirts and socks. Please e-mail me even if you don't think your child owes anything and I will let you know. Guard Fundraiser
The Guard is having a fundraiser at Gigi’s Cupcakes on Tuesday night, November 29th from 4-8 P.M. Gigi’s Cupcakes is located in Hoover by The Egg and I and Takizi’s. If you have never had a Gigi’s Cupcakes, you are missing out on a delicious treat. The Guard will receive 10% of all cupcakes sold that night. As always, thanks so much for your continued support of the Guard

Remember to SELL, SELL, SELL those tickets to the Christmas concert! We will have a drawing Friday night at the game for a great prize…but you can't win unless you SELL! Extra order flyers, forms, and receipts are available on the band home page under "Documents and Forms". Who will be the big winner THIS week?!?!?!????

Message from the band directors
All Wind Ensemble members are required to try out for All County Honor Band this year... The try outs are at Helena Middle on November 29 starting at 4. Audition fee is $5.00 (please let Mr Duren or Mr Ownby know if there is a problem with the money and we will handle)
The actual Honor Band event is at OMHS this year! January 26( starting at 6:00 pm ) and Friday the 27 (all day) – Rehearsal/Concert on the 28.
The Wind Ensemble members are required to try out for All State as well (the requirements are posted outside the Band Room Or you can go to Alabama Bandmasters web site and get them there). Those auditions are at Hoover High school January 14th 2012….. All State Festival is in Mobile again this year!!!!!!

Spring Trip – Gatlinburg
If the numbers do not improve we may have to reconsider the trip. Please send in your deposit ASAP or let me know what your intent is toward the trip. A decision will be made by the end of the week.
